CEO Of Laois County Council Applauded After Final Report

He will be retiring from the role this year.

Heartfelt thanks were given to the CEO of Laois County Council as he delivered his final report to the chamber.

John Mulholland will retire from the role this summer.

The Chief Executive received a round of applause and a standing ovation at his final local authority meeting this week.

Mr. Mulholland is set to step down from the role following the Local and European Elections in June.

Sinn Féin Councillor Aidan Mullins described him as 'co-operative and supportive' and said he always had 'the interests of Laois at heart'.

Fine Gael rep Thomisina Connell complimented his ability to overcome very difficult challenges and labelled him a 'fair person and great communicator'.

Mr Mulholland has held the position for the past 9 years.
